Duty Death: Dylan Rodiek - [Austin]

AUSTIN, Texas — A firefighter-EMT died Monday while on duty at a Jollyville Fire Department station near Austin.
Firefighter-EMT Dylan Rodiek, 34, was found deceased on the floor of his bunk room, from a possible cardiac-related event, according to the U.S. Fire Administration.
Rodiek joined the fire department in March 2021, according to a statement on the department’s website.
The statement described Rodiek as “an enthusiastic Firefighter who enjoyed serving the community.”
The Austin Fire Department tweeted its sadness about Rodiek’s passing, saying “RIP, brother; we’ll see you on the top floor.”
Sadness is heavy in our department and many others across the region today as we learned of the death of Firefighter/EMT Dylan Rodiek from the Jollyville Fire Department (JFD), who passed away last night while on duty at his station.
