SAN DIEGO — A man was caught on camera stealing from a San Diego fire engine as firefighters battled a two-alarm blaze on Friday.
The San Diego Police Department tweeted images of a man taking a bag of equipment from the engine during the fire at a restaurant. Police said about $1,000 worth of equipment was taken and asked for the public’s help in identifying a suspect.
The police department later tweeted on Saturday that a suspect had been identified and that the investigation was ongoing.

The fire at the restaurant, which officials say started in the building’s attic, caused approximately $500,000 in damage, according to FOX 5 San Diego. No injuries were reported.
