Duty Death: Eric Gore - [Philadelphia]

PHILADELPHIA — A Philadelphia firefighter has died due to COVID-19.
Philadelphia Firefighter Eric Gore died on Tuesday at Temple University Hospital, the city’s fire commissioner announced.
Commissioner Adam Thiel described Gore’s death as in the line of duty and said he put up a “valiant struggle” with the disease.
Gore had most recently served at the city’s Engine 37. Survivors include his brother, Philadelphia Firefighter Lamont Gore. Funeral arrangements are pending.
Several fire departments offered their condolences on social media.
America Hose, Hook & Ladder Company in Bristol, Pennsylvania wrote in a statement, “Our sincere condolences and prayers go out to FF. Eric Gore, his family and friends and to our brothers and sisters of the Philadelphia Fire Department.”
Woodbury Heights Fire Department in New Jersey wrote in a Facebook post, “WHFD would like to offer their deepest condolences to the Philadelphia Fire Department on the loss of a brother, firefighter Eric Gore, Tuesday. RIP brother. We got it from here.”
