RIVERSIDE, Calif. — A California family’s Halloween display has caused a real scare this year, with fake flames so realistic that firefighters have been called to the home multiple times.

Carmen and Travis Long, of Riverside, California, have been decorating their home in a “Pirates of the Caribbean” theme every October for three years, but the new addition of bright orange “fire” in their windows has caused some passersby to believe the house was really ablaze, according to ABC 7.

In addition to the unexpected visits from firefighters, the Long family has drawn in as many as 400 spectators a night with their display, which also includes a pirate ship, cannon and skeletons.
