NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — One person was taken to the hospital after a car and Brightline train collided on Wednesday morning in North Miami Beach, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
Fire-rescue got the call around 10 a.m. about the crash near Northeast 165th Terrace and Biscayne Boulevard. North Miami Beach police advise drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes. A major intersection at 163rd Street leads east to the ocean and west to the Golden Glades.
A video shared by Only in Dade on X captures a car driving past stopped vehicles and through a safety crossing, moments before being struck by a Brightline train. The train hits the car’s rear, sending it spinning.
One “trauma patient” was taken to the hospital by paramedics. Details on the person’s condition were not immediately available.
Helicopter footage from WSVN shows a destroyed black car near the train tracks.
On Dec. 28, a Delray Beach Fire Rescue ladder truck collided with a Brightline train in Palm Beach County, resulting in 15 people injured. On Dec. 30, a woman was struck and killed by a train in Miami.
