COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Two firefighters and two police officers were taken to the hospital after a suspected DUI driver struck them on Thursday, KDVR reports.
Officers with the Commerce City Police Department and firefighters with the South Adams County Fire were at the scene of the separate crash on Interstate 76 when the suspect driver drove through the barricades and struck them, police said.
All four first responders were transported to a nearby hospital. The police department said the two officers and one firefighter had minor injuries. A second firefighter sustained serious injuries.
The driver is being investigated for driving under the influence and was booked into the Adams County jail.
