MANVILLE, N.J. — Video posted online shows two national guard vehicles becoming stranded when attempting to navigate floodwaters in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene on Sunday.
Five soldiers, a police officer and a local newspaper photographer on board the New Jersey National Guard vehicles had to bail out when they stalled on Sunday, amid floodwater in Manville nearly as tall as the vehicles themselves.
The local fire department assisted in rescuing the stranded men.
