Does your department have residency restrictions that require members to live within a certain distance of the fire department/assigned station?

A new report by the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Board of Fire Commissioners found that only 15% of the LAFD workforce live within city limits. Further, 115 members live and commute from outside the state, prompting department officials to consider creating a residency requirement. Does your department have guidelines regarding residency?
