HENDERSON, Nev. — Firefighters retrieved a wedding ring and dress from the home of a Nevada couple whose house went up in flames a week before their wedding.
Mimi Marois and Kevin Lister thanked the Henderson firefighters for bringing the items out of the fire intact, and said they would move forward with their wedding plans, according to KTNV.
“I can’t imagine them looking around for a little ring in the bedroom, and he comes out with a ring and a dress,” Lister said. “It’s a sign (…) You guys got to keep going.”
The Henderson Fire Department reported that there were no injuries in the Saturday blaze and that the cause was under investigation.
The engaged pair said they were grateful for supportive friends and neighbors who made sure they had a place to stay, and for the firefighters’ swift actions.
“They were spot on,” Lister said. “They attacked this blaze like nobody’s business.”
