EMMITSBURG, Md. — On May 4 and 5, 2024 first responders across the country gathered together, in person and virtually, to remember and honor the nation’s fallen firefighters.
The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Memorial Weekend ceremony honored 89 firefighters who lost their lives while on duty in 2023, along with 137 firefighters who passed away in prior years.
Although traditionally held at the National Emergency Training Center in Emmitsburg, Maryland, inclement weather forced organizers to move this year’s event to the PNC Sports Complex Arena at Mount St. Mary’s University.
