LOS ANGELES — A firefighter and a police officer are recovering after coming into contact with an unknown substance on a call Sunday afternoon.
A Los Angeles police officer and firefighter were responding to a fight at a Walgreens in the area, when both responders began experiencing blurred vision and tingling hands after engaging with the combative patient, ABC 7 reported.
In an update, the LAPD said the tests taken from the scene came back negative for fentanyl but did detect cocaine.
Both the police officer and firefighter were released from the hospital after receiving decontamination showers and are expected to make a full recovery.
