TYRONE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Four firefighters were injured in a mayday call early Sunday at a house fire in Adams County.
Smoke was coming from the rear of the single-story home when crews arrived, Bendersville Community Fire Company Chief Jeff Kime told WGAL.
Minutes later, a gun safe fell through the first floor, pinning two firefighters, and a mayday call was made.
Crewmembers pulled their two injured peers to safety.
Two other firefighters also were injured in the floor collapse.
Before the crews arrived, the homeowner was able to escape with his dogs.
The fire is being investigated.
