KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A firefighter was fatally stabbed by a patient while en route to Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City early on Sunday morning, KMBC reported.
According to city officials, Firefighter-Paramedic Graham Hoffman, 29, was “critically injured” when the patient he was transporting stabbed him during the transport.
Despite the efforts of first responders and medical teams at North Kanas City Hospital, Hoffman was pronounced dead from his injuries.
“We will remember forever the service and sacrifice of Graham Hoffman of the Kansas City Fire Department. Our condolences to his family, all at KCFD, and all in our community,” Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas said in a statement on X.
