In this week’s The Command Post podcast, hosts Lt. Rom Duckworth and Chief Rob Wylie discuss how important unified command is in light of a recent report from Harvard University on the Boston Marathon bombing response. They also conduct an interview with Albe Basset, with the Norwalk (Conn.) Fire Department, and Paul DeBartolomeo, with the FDNY, about air bag tips and trench rescue operations.
Lt. Duckworth and Chief Wylie also compare a fire leader to that of a salesman in their leadership lessons segment. “You may ask: ‘What are we selling?’ You’re selling your department’s mission, safety, public safety and public fire education,” Chief Wylie said.
