MERRIMAC, Mass. — Three firefighters were injured while working a house fire on Sunday afternoon, NBC 10 Boston reported.
Several fire departments in the area responded, as well as the state’s wildfire control. Officials relayed that the blaze threatened local power lines that could create a blackout situation if damaged.
Responding crews were reportedly short staffed and were also experiencing water supply issues, according to the news station.
The three hurt firefighters were transported to a local hospital; one of the injuries is a heart-related emergency, officials said.
