LEHIGH COUNTY, Pa. — Two firefighters were injured and a Lehigh County home was heavily damaged in an early morning blaze Saturday that started in a shed.
No residents were injured in the fire, which was called in a little before 4 a.m. as a rear shed in flames ay 836 Oldt Road in the Breinigsville section of Upper Macungie Township, the Fogelsville Volunteer Fire Co. said.
The blaze jumped to the house and was upgraded to a second alarm, the fire company said.
The firefighters were evaluated and treated on scene by EMS; a message left for the fire company asking about the extent of the injuries was not immediately returned. Crews reported issues with freezing temperatures, freezing gear and icy roads, as overnight temperatures dipped below 15 degrees.
The cause of the fire appears to be accidental, but is being investigated by the fire marshal, the fire company said.
