BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. — Multiple Kingsville firefighters were injured while responding to a medical emergency on a highway.
Upon arriving at the scene on May 10, both the engine and squad were struck by a vehicle on I-95 South, resulting in significant damage to the apparatus, according to the Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company. The collision also led to two individuals being trapped and firefighters injured, the department stated on social media.
The firefighters on the scene, with support from neighboring companies, quickly began extrication efforts and successfully removed the two individuals.
Eight injured firefighters were transported to shock trauma with minor injuries. All have since been released.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
