Another FDIC conference is underway, and FireRescue1 is on site (booth #13000!) to check out the latest in fire and emergency services innovations.

If you can’t be there in person, though, online browsing is the next best thing. Did you know many products at FDIC are available from local and online retailers, including Amazon?

We looked at this year’s list of exhibitors and found several companies who have products available for purchase on Amazon – everything from tactical flashlights and EMS specialty backpacks to thermal imaging cameras and a wound-packing training kit. Here’s what available now.

1. Streamlight 74435 Strion flashlight

This flashlight offers high, medium, low and strobe modes, with high mode providing 1,200 lumens reaching up to 335 meters and lasting for approximately 1.75 hours. The medium setting offers 460 lumens with a 200-meter range and extends the run time to 5.5 hours. For longer-lasting use, the low mode emits 120 lumens that illuminate up to 110 meters and can run for up to 12 hours. Powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, it can be charged up to 1,000 times and includes an onboard safety control circuit. The device is IPX7 waterproof and has been tested for impact resistance up to 2 meters.

2. Rescue Essentials TrueClot Wound Packing Task Trainer

TrueClot Task Trainers are designed to simulate wound packing and demonstrate the use of advanced hemostatic gauzes with LUNA’s TrueClot Clotting Blood Simulant. The simulated large caliber gunshot wound can be packed with LUNA’s Simulated Hemostatic Gauze while flowing TrueClot Blood Simulant is pumped into the wound using the attached 1 liter squeeze bottle. Realistic simulated blood clots form on the gauze and flow from the wound when the gauze and blood simulant come in contact. Unlike the Laceration and Small Caliber Gunshot Wound models, this Task Trainer includes a hard plastic simulated bone inside the wound. The bone insert has a simulated fracture/defect and can be easily removed for cleaning.

3. 5.11 station jacket and pants

The 5.11 Packable Jacket packs into its own convenient pouch and is easily stowed in your vehicle or gear bag. The Packable jacket features mic loops, a vertical chest pocket and hand pockets. Made of durable nylon, this Packable Jacket is perfect for stowing away in a number of key locations and will stay clean in its pouch.

The 5.11 Taclite Pro Pant is crafted from Taclite poly/cotton fabric for comfort and performance in hot or humid climates, and features triple stitch reinforcements and extensive bar tacking for maximum durability. An action waistband and full gusseted crotch provide complete freedom of movement, while a Teflon fabric treatment protects against stains, spills, and soil. A double thick seat and knees enhance protection and resilience, the seven pocket configuration includes 5.11’s signature strap and slash rear pockets, and an integrated D-ring at the hip holds keys or ID.

4. FLIR K-33 Thermal Camera Kit

The FLIR K-33 offers streamlined performance with single-button, glove-friendly control and straightforward operation. The K-33 is also “enhanced with premium features that help improve situational awareness and give firefighters a greater sense of confidence and safety.”

5. Fire Department Coffee

Crafted using a proprietary spirit infusion process, the veteran-owned Fire Department Coffee’s Vanilla Bean Bourbon grounds are highlighted by rich vanilla and premium bourbon taste thanks to their unique method that infuses flavor while removing the alcohol content.

6. ESS Profile Turbofan Goggles

Powered by a single AA battery, the TurboFan system draws fresh airflow in through the lower edge of the goggle frame and forces humid air out the top at around 13,000 rpm. Even when perspiration or temperatures are extreme, this two-speed system will exhaust humidity and dramatically reduce lens fogging for over 150 hours of continuous operation (low speed). The improved fog-elimination system features the robust PowerPod battery pack, now with a push-button switch and repositioned near the back of the head for snag-free operation.

7. Kemp Ultimate EMS Backpack

The Ultimate EMS Backpack features high-visibility reflective trim and zippers equipped with reflective zip pulls. It is constructed with all-metal black nickel hardware and includes molded feet for added protection against wear and tear.

8. The Burn Box

The Burn Box celebrates firefighter products and firefighter-owned and -operated business. The monthly subscription box features a mix of apparel, gear and tools.
