Ga. firefighter hospitalized after firehouse shooting

A Union City firefighter was wounded in a shooting at Fire Station 2

UPDATE (11:37 a.m. EDT):

A spokesperson for the Union City Police Department said the shooting was accidental. They confirmed the firearm used did not belong to the injured firefighter, WSB-TV reported.

The firefighter is in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery.

UNION CITY, Ga. — A Union City firefighter was transported to the hospital after being shot late Wednesday night, according to officials.

The shooting occurred just before midnight at Fire Station 2, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.

11Alive reported officials have not disclosed the circumstances leading up to the shooting or provided an update on the condition of the injured firefighter.

The firefighter was taken to Grady Hospital, according to AtlantaNewsFirst.
