COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Firefighters in Prince George’s County battled a three-alarm apartment fire Monday that displaced as many as 100 occupants.
Firefighters received calls for an apartment fire in College Park at approximately 8:30 a.m., WUSA9 reported.
First-arriving firefighters saw fire on several balconies and called for a second alarm.
A public information officer for the department said it appeared the fire had started on a balcony and then extended into the roof.
A third alarm was eventually called, bringing firefighters from neighboring Montgomery and Howard counties.
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries. The Red Cross is assisting the displaced occupants.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
