Residential structure fires represent three-quarters of all structure fires in the U.S., accounting for 358,500 fire department responses from 2011-2015.
According to NFPA research, residential fires are responsible for:
- 93 percent of all civilian structure fire deaths
- 87 percent of all civilian structure fire injuries
- 68 percent of total direct damage in structure fires
