S.C. firefighter airlifted from scene of fire engine, tractor-trailer crash

A Trinity Fire Department fire engine went off the road and down an embankment after a collision while responding to a call

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. — A Trinity Fire Department firefighter was injured in a crash with a tractor-trailer while responding to a call on May 16.

Spartanburg County Emergency Services Director Doug Bryson said firefighters were responding to a call when their truck collided with an 18-wheeler, FOX Carolina reported.

Bryson reported that the injured firefighter driving was airlifted to the hospital and is believed to be in stable condition.

South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers said there were no other injuries.
