CENTENNIAL, Colo. — A South Metro Fire Rescue battalion chief was injured in a collision while responding to a call.
On April 15, firefighters were dispatched to a “high life hazard building” for a water flow alarm and medical emergency, the department stated on Facebook.
While en route, Battalion Chief 5’s vehicle, using lights and sirens, was hit by another vehicle, causing it to overturn.
The battalion chief immediately called for assistance and additional units were dispatched to the crash. The battalion chief and the driver of the other vehicle were transported to the hospital for evaluation.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
