FireRescue1.com Named Among “10 Great Media Sites” by BtoB’s Media Business Magazine

Leading online resource for firefighters recognized for social media success, traffic growth

SAN FRANCISCO – FireRescue1.com, a leading online resource for firefighters, has been recognized by BtoB’s Media Business Magazine in its annual “10 Great Media Sites” issue. The fourth annual compilation aims to reflect current trends, technologies and strategies employed by the top players in digital media, with a special focus on investments and a commitment to the digital future.

FireRescue1 was recognized as the top site in the business-to-business Trade media category, alongside leading media companies in other categories, such as the Financial Times, ITWorld and Focus.com. In determining the list, sites were evaluated in a number of areas, including appearance; organization and navigation; search functionality; video and other multimedia content; and community/social media (Web 2.0) features. BtoB received a record number of nominations this year, with more than 60 sites submitting applications.

FireRescue1 was selected in part for its 27% increase in registered users as well as its stunning success in leveraging social media to add depth to the site as well as drive traffic and interaction off site. With more than 85,000 fans on Facebook, FireRescue1 has seen tremendous results both in referral traffic as well as branding since ramping up efforts a little over a year ago. The article also highlights new features recently added to the site, including FireRescue1’s The Kitchen Table, a blog aimed at recreating the informal discussion format of the firehouse.
