DAYTON, Ohio — Honeywell is displaying its life guard hood at the Fire Rescue International tradeshow.
The Life Guard Hood is NFPA 1971 certified and blocks particulates with a lighter, bigger fit that integrates with SCBA and turnout gear.
The particulate-blocking hood is laboratory-proven in fluorescent aerosol screening test testing by RTI International. In testing, it provided dramatically better protection from particulates versus a 2015 IAFF test by RTI showing very heavy deposits on the head and neck areas using a standard knit hood.
Honeywell said its hood blocks carcinogenic particulates in both air and water. The breathable multi-layer composite material is coupled with a roomier design that promotes the safe flow of air around a user’s head and neck. The Mask Mate face opening fits the shape of air mask and provides a wide field of vision.
It will be at booth #14097.
