HazSim and Hazmat Nation to host its 6th annual networking event at IAFC’s hazmat conference to raise money for the Firefighter Cancer Support Network and demo the new HazSim Pro 3
PALOS VERDES, Calif. - For the sixth year, Hazmat Nation and HazSim will bring together more than 200 hazmat professionals for a networking and fundraising event in conjunction with the International Association of Fire Chiefs’ hazmat conference held June 8-11 in Baltimore.
The networking event is free to hazmat conference attendees and will once again be held at Pete’s Pour House.
“These informal gatherings are as important for learning, sharing and building connections as are the classroom sessions,” said Phil Ambrose, inventor and CEO of HazSim. “We are excited to be back at Pete’s to let hazmat leaders share their stories and raise money for an important firefighter cause.”
Hazmat Nation and HazSim will once again use the event to raise money for the Firefighter Cancer Support Network. The pairing makes sense as responder cancer and hazmat are so closely, and unfortunately, linked.
“Last year the fundraiser was so well received by hazmat professionals that we want to build on that good will,” Ambrose said. “We are strong believers in the work and mission of FCSN, and it appears the hazmat community is as well.”
FCSN, a national nonprofit with more than 250 volunteers nationwide, has been serving firefighters battling cancer since 2005.
HazSim will be providing demonstrations of its newly launched Pro 3 hazmat training platform. The reimagined HazSim comes at a more affordable price point, uses cloud-based technology to push and track training evolutions, and can connect to multiple devices across larger areas.
As in previous years, the event will include industry sponsors who will offer free merchandise to the attendees. This year will also mark the return of the bourbon tasting, sponsored by All Safe Industries.
“Our sponsors made all the difference in the world in making this a success,” Ambrose said. “We look forward to furthering our partnerships with them as this event grows in scope and purpose in the coming years. Hazmat response and training improves when hazmat professionals can build bonds and share their knowledge. This annual event and the daily work at Hazmat Nation are dedicated to building those bonds.“
