The Teton County (Idaho) Fire Protection District has taken delivery of three heavy brush engines from Boise Mobile Equipment. The apparatus, built on Kenworth T-300 4 x 4 chassis, feature a 300-hp Caterpillar C7 engine, an Allison 3000 EVS automatic transmission, Akron valves and an all-aluminum body. Additional equipment includes a 1,000-gallon United Plastics Fabricating (UPF) polypropylene tank, a Darley 11/2" AGE with a Lombardi 26-hp engine and a 20-gallon UPF foam tank. Special features include Code 3 lights, an Elkhart Sidewinder front-bumper monitor, a FoamPro 1600 foam proportioner, Class 1 tank-level gauges, a Hannay booster reel, a rear pump panel and in-cab pump controls, a Darley primer and a Newton electric quick dump.
