Nesquehoning, PA – KME and W.W. Williams, KME’s Arizona dealer, are pleased to announce that the City of Avondale Fire and Rescue has taken delivery of a brand new KME RidgerunnerTM.
The Ridgerunner is designed specifically to bring the performance of a full pumper into the WUI zone so that departments no longer have to choose between water and mobility. It brings large pumping capacity and a large water tank (up to 1000 gallons) and combines it with superior pump-and-roll. All this on a short package with a tight wheelbase which includes all the NFPA 1901 pump requirements.
The Avondale apparatus will serve a multi-purpose role for the City. It will be used as a frontline engine as well as be deployed for service at Phoenix International Raceway. It will also be deployed as a Type 3 engine for wild land assignments, creating revenue for the City and will be capable of being used as a reserve engine if needed.
This interface is capable of carrying 5 department personnel, all necessary structural firefighting equipment as well as wild land equipment. Key features for this unit include a 1250gpm rated water pump, foam system, stationary and pump-and-roll capabilities, a remote operated front bumper turret, two booster reels, 4x4 drive train and many, many more.
