GREENSBURG, Ky. — Two volunteer firefighters had to be rescued after their fire truck partially fell into a large hole over an underground garage.
WHAS11 reported that the Summersville Fire Department truck pulled into the parking lot to turn around during a funeral procession. When the truck made the turn, it fell through the basement of an auto parts store, according to the report.
The firefighters inside the truck when it fell in were uninjured.
Crews later used special equipment and cranes to lift the truck out of the hole and assess the damage, according to the report.
