NY fire department takes delivery of new rescue truck

The truck comes equipped with an array of rescue accessories

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. &mdash ; A N.Y. fire department has received a new rescue truck.

The $700,000 vehicle was received by the Pound Ridge Fire Department last week and was purchased with tax money raised over several years by the Rock Ridge Fire District, according to the Daily Voice.

The apparatus has a 250-gallon water tank, and is equipped with struts for vehicle stabilization, three generators, new extrication tools, a thermal-imaging camera, gas detectors, and an inflatable boat.

It also comes equipped with climbing and high-angle rescue equipment and a grip hoist with a hand winch.

Crews have already started training on it, learning how to use its new features.
