Ark. fire truck hit by semi while responding to crash scene

Officials said the tractor-trailer didn’t yield and side-swiped the rig

CRAWFORD CONTY, Ark. — A fire truck was hit by a semi while en route to a crash scene Friday morning.

5newsonline.com reported that crews with the Mulberry Fire Department were responding to a crash scene when they were hit by an oncoming tractor-trailer hauling lumber.

The fire truck had its lights and sirens on, but officials said the tractor-trailer didn’t yield and side-swiped the rig.

No firefighters were injured; the tractor-trailer driver was cited for failure to yield.
