FireRescue1 Executive Editor Chief Marc Bashoor speaks with U.S. Fire Administrator G. Keith Bryant at Fire Rescue International about the six-year reauthorization of the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) and SAFER grant programs approved by President Trump.

According to Bryant, there is an average of $350 million set aside for each program, but those numbers could go up.

“So far what we’re seeing in the Senate and House markups of the budget, they’ll stay about where they’re at,” he tells Bashoor. “But, the indication is there that there might be some additional funding for the Urban Search and Rescue Program and the Urban Areas Security Initative.’
