This week marked the 46th annual EMS Week honoring EMS providers across the country for their lifesaving work and dedication to caring for others. According to FEMA data, about 64% of fire department calls are categorized as EMS and rescue, which demonstrates the critical role that EMS providers play in the work and mission of the fire service.

Throughout the week, fire departments showed their pride in their EMS-trained members on social media and highlighted their accomplishments that exemplify this year’s EMS Week theme of “This Is EMS: Caring for Our Communities.”
