FireRecruit.comSAN FRANCISCO – FireRescue1.com, a leading online resource for the firefighting community, announced that it has acquired FireRecruit.com, a comprehensive employment website and job subscription service for firefighters, and will be incorporating it into the FireRescue1.com Network of news and information websites.

Founded in 1994, FireRecruit.com provides 15,000 members and 2,000 active subscribers with access to nationwide fire department recruitment information, including exclusive career resources and job listings for cadets as well as firefighters researching advancement opportunities. With the acquisition, FireRescue1 members will also receive a 10 percent discount on annual FireRecruit.com subscriptions.

“FireRecruit.com has long set the standard for comprehensive career guidance and timely resources – assisting firefighters both in finding jobs and performing more effectively in them,” said Alex Ford, CEO of FireRescue1. “We’re happy to welcome FireRecruit’s members into our network, and we’re glad to be able to offer all of our members another top-notch informational resource.”

Tony Vitalie, a veteran firefighter and the founder of FireRecruit.com, will be joining Praetorian Group to continue managing the site.

“I’m pleased that FireRecruit.com will be joining a company with a reputation for serving the best interests of the fire service, one that FireRescue1 has earned over the years,” Vitalie said. “As part of the FireRescue1 Network, FireRecruit.com will be able to grow more rapidly and offer a wider range of services and value to our members, while continuing to remain true to our core values.”
