Another uncle died in the fire that was made tough to fight by snow and freezing temperatures

REVERE, Mass. — A firefighter says he rescued one of his uncles from a house blaze in suburban Boston but his other uncle was found dead inside. The firefighting effort was difficult because temperatures were well below freezing and fire hydrants were still buried under snow.

Revere Fire Department Deputy Chief Chris Bright says his uncle Dennis Toomey was in his 80s and died in the fire early Friday morning. Bright says he and other firefighters rescued his other uncle, Robert Toomey.

Authorities say other occupants of the home are all accounted for.

They say the fire doesn’t appear to have been an arson but the cause remains under investigation.
