PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — Three children of a fallen FDNY firefighter participated in spring training with the Mets over the weekend.
Battalion Chief Michael Fahy’s three children, 12-year-old Michael, 9-year-old Anna and 6-year-old Cormac were invited to spend the weekend with the Mets. They were outfitted with uniforms, hung out in the dugout and participated in warm-up exercises, reported NBC New York.
The Fahy children also had dinner with some of the players, and played mini-golf and went bowling.
Fahy was was killed in a house explosion while on duty September 2016; he was a 17-year veteran. Since his death, his family has received an outpouring of support.
