NEW YORK — Twenty-two people were injured, including 10 firefighters, in a fire at a high-rise apartment building in Manhattan on Sunday, New York City fire officials said.
The fire broke out just before 11 a.m. in a 16th-floor apartment of the Riverside Park Community and spread into the apartment above on the 17th floor of a building, investigators said. The residential complex is made up of five buildings at 3333 Broadway in Harlem.
About 100 firefighters battled the blaze, which burned for nearly half an hour through several apartments. They managed to get the flames under control just after 11:20 a.m.
