“Ladder 49,” a 2004 film starring Joaquin Phoenix and John Travolta, follows a Baltimore firefighter who becomes trapped inside a warehouse fire and the events in his life that led up to that point.
The firefighting film received 3.5 out of 4 stars from popular movie critic Roger Ebert, who said the movie “draws from the action scenes instead of depending on them.”
