DALLAS — The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a retired Dallas firefighter who went missing under suspicious circumstances.
Michael Chambers, 70, talked to his wife on the phone at about 8 a.m. Friday and has not been heard from since, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. Deputies searched his home in the Quinlan area after his family reported him missing Friday night. Authorities said they found evidence that shows he may be in danger.
Chambers, who usually wears a Dallas Fire-Rescue T-shirt and ball cap, often spent time in a workshop on his property in the 7000 block of Farm-to-Market Road 2101, according to the Greenville Herald-Banner.

“And that’s where we observed indicators that he did not leave on his own,” Sheriff Randy Meeks told the newspaper. “Several items of his were also missing.”
Chambers retired from Dallas Fire-Rescue in 2008. He is 6 feet 3 inches tall, weighs 225 pounds and has balding gray hair. He’s not known to have medical disabilities.
