ANN ARBOR, Michigan — The Fire Department Safety Officers Association (FDSOA) this week released guidelines for COVID-19 fire station exposure reduction.
The guide details procedures that firefighters can employ to reduce or avoid cross-contamination of on-duty staff, specifically focusing on at-shift change, station socializing, station meals, department mail, department facilities, bedding, and self-monitoring.
The downloadable PDF also includes an Entry Screening Procedure step-by-step guide and self-screen checklist.
The FDSOA is a nonprofit association focused on promoting safety standards and practices in the fire, rescue and emergency services community.
