Deputy Chief Kevin Quinn named CFSI Mason Lankford Fire Service Leadership Award recipient

ARLINGTON, Va. — The Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI) and Motorola Solutions have announced that retired Deputy Chief Kevin Quinn of the Union Fire District will be honored with the 2025 CFSI/Motorola Solutions Mason Lankford Fire Service Leadership Award.

The award will be presented during the 35th Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner on Feb. 13, 2025.

“Kevin Quinn is being honored with the Mason Lankford Award for his leadership and dedication to our nation’s firefighters and emergency services personnel,” CFSI President Jim Estepp said. “He embodies the spirit of the Lankford Award through his lifelong commitment to building partnerships and advancing firefighter safety.”

A veteran of the fire service since 1976, Quinn has dedicated nearly five decades to advancing firefighter safety and emergency services. His leadership roles include serving on the National Volunteer Fire Council’s Board of Directors for over 40 years and contributing to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation as a board member. Quinn has also been a part of the National Fire Academy’s Board of Visitors for two terms and served on the board of the Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition.

Throughout his career, Quinn has worked tirelessly to shape fire service policies and programs at the local, state, and national levels. His efforts have been instrumental in addressing firefighter health and safety issues and fostering partnerships to enhance the fire service community.

The 35th Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Symposium and Dinner will include a robust seminar program addressing national fire and life safety issues.
