WASHINGTON — The Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI) announced on Monday the opening of its award application period for its 2022 national awards.

The CFSI awards recognize both individuals and organizations for outstanding leadership in fire and life safety. The four awards include:

  1. CFSI/Motorola Solutions Mason Lankford Fire Service Leadership Award recognizes individuals for leadership in advancing the readiness and safety of our nation’s firefighters and emergency services personnel.
  2. CFSI/NFFF Senator Paul S. Sarbanes Fire Service Safety Leadership Award recognizes organizations for outstanding leadership in advancing the 16 Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives.
  3. CFSI/IFSTA Dr. Anne W. Phillips Award for Leadership in Fire Safety Education recognizes individuals for leadership in fire safety education.
  4. CFSI/Masimo Excellence in Fire Service-Based EMS recognizes fire departments for innovations and enhancements in the delivery of emergency medical services.

The deadline for submitting nominations is Jan. 7, 2022.

The recipients will be recognized at the 2022 National Fire and Emergency Services Dinner on April 7, 2022, in Washington, D.C.
