TUCSON, Ariz. — A captain with the Tucson Fire Department has lost her battle with job-related cancer.
Captain Jacki deHaro died of lung cancer Saturday morning, announced the Tucson Fire Fighters Association.
The Association shared the news on its Facebook page, writing that deHaro had fought “fearlessly against and aggressive form of lung cancer that she contracted from her many years of service as a Tucson Fire Fighter. This morning, her battle has peacefully ended in the presence of her closest loved ones. Jacki thankfully suffers no more.”
The Tucson Fire Fighters Association also noted that deHaro’s death is a line-of-duty death, and “she will be honored accordingly in her memorial services.”
