NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. — After a GoFundMe page raised $150,000 for firefighter Kenneth Walker, the outpouring of support reached new heights this week.
Firefighters from Los Angeles and San Francisco have given Walker and his family an all-expenses-paid, weeklong vacation in Venice Beach, California.
Walker’s home was burnt down Aug. 3 by a neighbor and former colleague just days after he received a racist, threatening letter in the mail.
Firefighters from at least 26 states have reached out to Walker and the Gratwick Hose Fire Company, reported ABC7.
“Three thousand miles away, the brotherhood is still strong,” President of Gratwick Hose Fire Company Bob Brennan said.
