NEW YORK — Nine people, including eight firefighters, were injured in a Bronx 5-alarm fire Thursday night.
NBC New York reported that more than 200 firefighters battled the blaze that damaged six buildings, according to officials.
One firefighter was seriously injured, but is in stable condition. Seven other firefighters were treated for smoke inhalation. One civilian suffered minor injuries.
Firefighters believe fireworks could have been the cause of the fire, but it is still under investigation.
