Officials in multiple states reported interruptions to emergency service systems on Monday night.
Law enforcement agencies in Nevada, Pennsylvania, Arizona and Minnesota turned to social media to update citizens on the outage and to provide alternative numbers available for assistance, NBC 4 New York reported.
The outages were reported during a timeframe that coincided with an announcement from Microsoft about a major system outage, though it’s not clear if the outages were connected.
Within 90 minutes, several municipalities said their 911 systems were back up and running, while others continued to encourage residents to utilize alternative phone numbers.
