NEW YORK — Six firefighters and three civilians were injured in a four-alarm fire that engulfed several buildings in Brooklyn.
The blaze began at approximately 10:40 p.m. on Aug. 26 in a building on Dean Street in Crown Heights, WABC reported.
The fire extended into four other homes.
According to WABC, the FDNY said the roof of the fire building collapsed into the top floor as firefighters worked to prevent the flames from spreading.
“The first thing I saw was the flames coming out of the windows. It was like an inferno – everything was fire,” Frederico Pagan, a neighbor, told PIX11 News. “All the flames coming out and the fire keeps moving from one house to the next. It went to four houses.”
There was no report on the severity of injuries to firefighters and civilians.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
