NC firefighter suffers head injury during training

The News & Observer

DURHAM, NC — A training accident Tuesday left a firefighter with "major head injuries," fire officials said Wednesday.

Fire Technician Eric Rozier was injured in a boating accident and was at UNC Hospitals in critical condition, the Fire Department said in a news release.

No one else was injured in the accident, which happened during urban search-and-rescue training at Jordan Lake.

Rozier has been a Durham firefighter for nine years, and he has been on the USAR team for three years. The Fire Department is investigating the accident.
