VFIS Introduces New Privately Owned Vehicle Operations Training Program

YORK, Pa. — To aid in the national effort to reduce privately-owned vehicle crashes, VFIS Risk Control and Education and Training Services have developed Privately-Owned Vehicle (POV) Operations: Answering the Call Safely. This product is part of the VFIS Safety and Risk Management
Video Series.

Improper POV operation by well-intentioned emergency service workers can increase the risk of
injury or death to both emergency service workers and to the public. This training program will provide
information for emergency services officers on how to provide proper training, and how to develop SOGs and other management tools to help reduce the risks associated with driving POVs.

The Privately-Owned Vehicle (POV) Operations: Answering the Call Safely program includes a DVD
Training Program, an Instructor's Program Kit CD including Instructor's Participant Guide and Safety
Communique, and a Safety Poster.

Privately-Owned Vehicle (POV) Operations: Answering the Call Safely is available now and may
be ordered by calling VFIS at 800-233-1957, ext. 7964 or by visiting the online store at www.vfis.com.VFIS clients receive the first copy of the program complimentary, and additional copies are $35. The price for non-clients is $70.00.
